We went there to see and photograph some of the work done in the streets of the city by various artists, not only but under the street art festivals that have been happening, namely “Tons da Primavera“. Freshly Painted Train Station Tunnel in Algés

Just before the 2017 edition of the NOS Alive Music Festival, the Algés train station tunnel suffered a renovation.  The CMOeiras, CP – Comboios de Portugal and IP-Infraestruturas de Portugal proposed a challenge to the artists 2Upla, Nomen, Jorge Cordeiro, Pedro Esteves and counted with the participation of about 13 other graffiti writers, to change the face of this location.

It was a project of approximately 1,2 km2, divided in zones and executed during 10 consecutive days. The themes around this project emerged from the concept of mobility, “Mobility Factory” and from the importance of the Algés riverside walkway as one of the biggest concert stages located at the riverfront of Lisbon.

Below you can find photos of the final result.

Obey Giant is Out in the Streets of Lisbon

Obey, one of the world’s most respected icons in the street art scene, spread his art along the streets of Lisbon. The artist came to Portugal for the first time, invited by the Underdogs Gallery, where he is presenting a solo exhibition called “Printed Matters”, available until the 23th of September. To complete his visit, Shepard Fairey left some murals in Graça and Campolide areas which you can see below.

Recap: Lisbon “Graffiti in Amoreiras” Festival

Artists Utopia and Nomen had the initiative to organize a street art and graffiti festival, called “Graffiti in Amoreiras“, that took place at the great wall of Amoreiras in Lisbon, Portugal.  This non-profit project featuring 14 invited artists (and some other who joined the event), renewed the historic wall and left to the graffiti lovers in general, some large-scale paintings, covering an area of 750m2. The event happened in May 2017 but you can recap the work of the artists below.
